ennis was born in Grass Valley, California on July 14, 1950 to Clark Wendell & Verna Freeland, the youngest of three. He resided with his parents and sisters, Wendy and Rosemary, in Grass Valley until he moved to Bakersfield, CA, in 1969. He started a family with his wife Pamela and raised two sons, Brian and Kevin. He was trained as a plumbing apprentice and became a journeyman in no time working for an amazing local plumbing business, John Boles Plumbing. Mr. Boles made a significant impact on Denny's career and he soon became a master plumber. Dennis was an ambitious man and father; he started his own plumbing company in 1977. His business was family owned and operated. His sons stepped into his shoes and grew into the plumbing business themselves. Dennis left a legacy of built projects spanning over five decades throughout California, primarily centered in Bakersfield and Kern County. His work ethic and determination was known by all who worked with him. He enjoyed life to the fullest. He had a lot of hobbies in life: fishing, camping, hunting, motorcycling, scuba diving, boating and many more. He was an amazing cook and intrigued with the mechanics of all of his vehicles and toys. He was a role model in his strength and in his caring nature. He will be greatly missed by all who had the opportunity to know him.
Dennis is survived in death by his loving sons Brian Clark Freeland and Kevin Robert Freeland, three grandchildren, Bradley, Ethan and Emily, and several other family and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on September 28 at Olive Knolls Church in Bakersfield, followed by a celebration of his life at Chuy's on Rosedale Hwy. for those who wish to attend.

It's a sad and lonely place where everyone is quite, then one day I heard this man talking loudly giving someone a hard time. I thought to myself I am going to be nosey so I walked by and I stopped. I said are you giving this man a hard time and he said hell yes. I said finally someone I can relate to and I introduced myself and he said hi I am Dennis......When you go to a sad, lonely and depressing place it makes it even worse when you are alone. So I met Dennis at AIS Cancer Center where we both were undergoing Chemotherapy, what made our encounter more unique was we we doing the same treatment on the same days, so we knew what each other was going through. Dennis and I became friends and believe me on our Chemotherapy days that place wasn't quiet anymore, we talked, we laughed, we told stories, but most of all we weren't alone anymore. After going to Chemo for 2 years Dennis was the only friend I made and I miss him. I am truly going to miss my friend and I will cherish our time together. Fly high Dennis and give them all a hard time........ My condolences to his family and friends.....Dennis was a great guy
