Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven
Dwight Richard Hadley, 65, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2024, in Southaven. He was surrounded by his family who had been with him throughout his journey with his illness. The family will hold a private memorial at a later date. Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven is handling arrangements.
Richard, as he was known by family and friends, was a kind, generous and funny man. He had the sweetest spirit and was kind to everyone, even those who weren't very kind to him. He was quick to forgive and made people laugh with his quick wit and humor. Richard was a man of many interests and talents. Richard played both guitar and bass and was a huge fan of The Beatles. He loved the outdoors, baseball, golf, and running. He also found joy in his work, reading, music, eating good food, and cooking. He loved spending time with his family.
Richard preferred to focus on the big picture and not dwelling on the small things. He was a wonderful father, great at making people laugh and cheering them up. His ability to uplift others was a testament to his caring nature and musical talents.
Richard is survived by his children, Zachery Thomas Hadley of Coldwater, MS, and Katie Leigh Hadley of Dickson, TN; grandchildren, Evelyn Rose and Adalyn Jade Hadley of Coldwater, MS; and his sisters, Pamela H Farrar of Memphis, TN, and Cindy V Lusk of Nesbit, MS.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor Valentino and Martha Ellen Hadley; and his brother, Alan Lance Hadley.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Richard's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (https://stjude.org).
