Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven
John W. Brewer, age 83, of Collierville, TN, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 27, 2024, following an extended illness. A visitation to honor his life will be held on Monday, July 1, 2024, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at 9:30 a.m., also at Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven, with interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Collierville, TN. Bro. Al Canon will officiate. Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven is handling arrangements.
John served in the Army during the years of 1961 to 1968. He retired from Texas Instruments, working there 30 plus years, located in Sherman, TX. He was very passionate about bowling, yard work, playing dominos, and baking banana pudding.
John is survived by his sister, Teresa Clanton and brother-in-law, Bobby Clanton; and many nieces and nephews. He was very loved and will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Annie Brewer; seven sisters, Mary Deaton, Ameila Ann Brewer, Onita Busby, Stella Eaton, Hazel Forte, Clara Mae Hodges, and Louise Hill; five brothers, George Brewer, Henry Brewer, Tommy Joe Brewer, Floyd Brewer, and Curtis Brewer.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven, MS, for handling all the funeral arrangements as well as being so kind and caring during this difficult time and all of the staff at Pine Meadows Nursing Home for the care and kindness shown to John while living there. The family would also like to express their utmost appreciation to Tessie Williams, who went above and beyond to care for John as well as being a good friend to him.
