Dwight Clifford St. John, 59, of Norwalk, CT, born on July 26th, 1965, went to be with God on September 15th 2024.
Dwight grew up in East Norwalk on Tonetta Circle, where his parents Donald and Beverly raised him and his older sisters, Dawn and Jill. Tonetta Circle, in all its infamy, has always been a home to his family, his niece Gemma, friends across the country, and more importantly, his four children: Jake, Jamie, Tess, and Wilton. Above all else, Dwight loved his family, and he showed it every day by calling all of his children multiple times a day. They were his absolute pride and joy, his legacy, and his solace. He was the greatest father, uncle, and loving friend. He made his home a home to all, demonstrated by a literal open-door policy which was the truest testament to how caring and welcoming he was to all.
Everyone who knew Dwight appreciated him for his humor, sarcastic way and his thoughtfulness. His jovial and amicable language drew many to him, toughening on the exterior but a big lovable bear on the inside. Dwight grew up on the water and loved being on a boat or swimming in the sound. He was a skilled boat captain who could manage any sea and he loved taking boat trips with his children along the East Coast shores. He drank his coffee diesel-fuel black and gave the Cookie Monster a run for the title. He loved drinking a yellow jacket around a fire and making scones on Christmas morning.
Dwight believed in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and we know that he is walking alongside Him in heaven now. He started his journey with Christ at CACC in Norwalk, pastored by Bob Story, and shared Christ to all of his kids. He started every morning reading his Bible, was an avid volunteer at Grace Farms, and was a regular attendee of his men's bible study. We know that all who believe in Him will be at his side one day again, and we look forward to hearing Dwight's laugh and stories. He has so many people who cared for him and will miss him every day.
Dwight is survived by his four children, his former wife Lawson Smith, his sisters Jill and her husband Bill and daughter Gemma, sister Dawn and Jim.
A private service will be held in his memory followed by an open-house celebration of his life held at his home on Tonetta Circle. For those who would like to share their love and Dwight stories are welcome from 3 to 6 PM on Saturday, September 21.
In lieu of flowers contributions in Dwight's memory may be made to Grace Community Church, 365 Lukes Wood Road, New Canaan, CT 06840.

I knew Dwight in high school and always loved his humor but i really got to know him when he worked with me in Real Estate. The room was always brighter when he was in it! He brought laughter and a light side to things that could change the mood of a room in a heartbeat...for the better. He had a wonderful serious side as well and we would strategize about entrepreneurial opportunities. One thing i know for certain is his kids were everything to him. He lit up like a lightbulb when he spoke of them and he was beyond proud of each and every one of them. Heaven will be a whole lot brighter with him in it... but he will be missed terribly here on earth. You are loved Dwight and will live in our hearts forever.

My husband Keith, introduced me to Dwight at Grace Community Church! Dwight was always happy and smiling; I enjoyed the banner between the both of them each time we talked. I could tell he was so sincere and genuine I looked forward to seeing him. I will miss seeing him on this side of the earth but I know he is rejoicing with our Lord. I pray for his family every day
