Dylan Joe Atwood was born Jan 18, 1995 in Vernal, Utah Death Date Nov. 9, 2023 Religious activity; He was baptized when he was young to the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints. Dylan passed away on November 9, 2023, after a long battle with the disease of addiction. He was the oldest cousin and first born to his parents Gabe Atwood and Gail Hilton. He was always close to his mother. People even called him a “mama’s boy”. He had an older brother Ian Nolan, who he was always close to. He soon was given a baby sister, Kristie when he was 13 months old. He and Kristie were inseparable. They were always there for each other in the darkness and light of their lives. When Kristie had children later in life, he cherished them and loved them with his whole heart. He found so much joy in his nephews and niece; Ryker, Kasin and Neveah. Later in his childhood he was blessed with three more siblings who he revered and loved deeply; River, Gabriel (known as bubba) and Tayce. Who was brought into the world by his step mom Frances (known as Frannie) who loved him and raised him as her own. He once told Fran “My mom is my mother but you are my mama.” He was also blessed with two stepbrothers from Frannie; Kaleb and Colton. He always loved them as much as any of his biological siblings. He was so smart and talented. In his early years he loved boxing, skateboarding, and playing with his many cousins. He cherished facilitating games like cops and robbers or teaching the younger cousins to make paper airplanes. He also loved swimming and roughhousing with his cousins, and later son. He loved spending time at the sand dunes riding dirt bikes or four wheelers. He loved floating the river with his dad, and later his son. But he mentioned that above all he loved spending time at grandma Donna's farm. About which he said “In my whole life through struggle and hard times, Grandma Donna and the farm has always been safe, happy and positive. It’s always the same with love and something good that grandma donna is cooking for everyone” He loved dogs and always had at least one as a companion. His dog Cheeko was his latest companion, whom he loved dearly. His dogs always brought him joy and comfort. He was beloved by anyone who knew him. He had a light and spirit that were undeniable. He met the mother of his child, and love of his life, Hayleigh Gonzalez, through their journey in recovery together. Hayeligh had a daughter, Zaiya Wood. Who Dylan loved as his own. She even called him “mommy Dylan”. They were blessed with the birth of Trayvin Joe on September 4, 2016. Just as Dylan brought joy, light and purpose to his father Gabes life, so did Trayvin give his dad Dylan's life meaning. He was never shy about the fact that his greatest joy in life was being a father. Although he struggled throughout his life with the dark disease of addiction, he always had a deep desire to be a beacon of light to those he loved. He loved his family more than anything. Through his life there were a lot of special people who loved and looked out for him, especially his aunt Sarah. On occasion his uncle Jesse and aunt Jennifer were blessed with the privilege of having him in their home. So did his aunt Jamie and uncle Scotty. Who he lovingly dubbed uncle buttcrack. He maintained this nickname throughout his life. His dad Gabe always welcomed him home with loving arms. He was able to work alongside his dad, learning many skills and traits from his very talented father. He will always be remembered by those who loved him for his sense of humor, his love and talent for music, passion for entrepreneurship and his enthusiasm for life. He brought his artistic flair to everything he did. He had a lust for life and adventure in spite of the dark adversity that so often plagued his short time on earth. He was a deep ocean of love. Everyone who waded in his waters felt his unconditional love. Above all he cherished his son, siblings, niece, and nephews. He will be deeply, deeply missed.
