Earl Douglas Artis

Earl Douglas Artis Sr., a beloved father and friend, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2025, in Greensboro, North Carolina, at the age of 77. Born on July 18, 1947, in Ahoskie, North Carolina, Earl lived a life marked by dedication to his family, his work, and his community.
Earl spent his career working diligently for the City of Greensboro in the Sanitation Department. His commitment to his work was surpassed only by his devotion to making those around him smile. Earl had a warm heart and a generous spirit that touched everyone he met.
A proud member of the Masons, Earl valued the fraternity's principles and cherished the camaraderie and support he found within the organization.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Angeline and Joe Artis; his beloved wife, Sylvia Artis; his brothers, Joe Artis and Willie Artis; and his sister, Barbera Jean.
Earl leaves behind a loving family to cherish his memory: his sons, Earl Artis Jr. and Avery Artis, and his daughter, Angelia Artis. He will be dearly missed by family, friends, and all who knew him.
The family will hold a service to honor Earl's life on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Triad Cremation & Funeral Service, located at 2110 Servomation Road, Greensboro, NC 27407. Visitation will begin at noon, followed by the service at 1:00 PM.
