Earl McBride, 90 of Watertown, SD passed away March 7, 2025 in Watertown.
Funeral service will be at 3:00pm Thursday March 13, 2025 at Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Earl Dean McBride, born August 29, 1934 in Flandreau, SD to Rufus C. and Lulu Grace (Henderson) McBride. Earl grew up in Clear Lake, SD. He attended school at Revillo country school in Deuel County and in Clear Lake. He earned his GED and then studied to be a mechanic at LATI in Watertown, SD.
On July 1, 1958 Earl married Virginia Simmons at the Grace Lutheran Church in Watertown.
Earl was a mechanic in the US Air Force for 21 years and was a crew member for B-52. In 1969 Earl was selected to be in a bombing competition in which he took 2nd place. He lived numerous places within the Midwest and eastern United States until settling in Watertown, SD.
Aside from the Air Force, Earl worked for Firestone Tires for 17 years. He also was employed at Montgomery Ward. Earl loved his horses and cars and enjoyed gardening. He was a member of the American Legion and the South Shore Saddle Club.
Earl is survived by his loving wife, Virginia of Watertown; his children, Judie Jensen, Dan (Teri) McBride and Sharon McBride all of Watertown. Four grandchildren, Jeremy McBride (Laura), Fargo, ND, Jennifer Landon (Alan Hawkinson), Aberdeen, SD, Tyler McBride (Taylor Hansen), Florence, SD and Cierra Lundquist, Watertown, SD; nine great grandchildren, Owen, Austin, Blake, Chase, Hunter, Ruger, Taryn, Tiahna and Taisley; and his sisters, Hazel Kolb of Goodwin, SD, Barbara Seefeldt of Milbank, SD and Beverly Boe of Long Prairie, MN.
He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, R. Francis (Zada) McBride, Marvin (Lois) McBride and John McBride; two sisters, Ruby (John) Ring and Margie (Donald) Hanson; brothers-in-law, Harold Seefeldt, Irel Boe and Leonard Kolb.
