Earl Rust Obituary

BUCKLEY - Earl John Rust, 90, of rural Buckley died at 9:05 p.m. Wednesday (June 4, 2025) at OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center, Urbana.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 9, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Buckley, with the Rev. J. Kevin Wyckoff officiating. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Buckley. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 8, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 306 E. Lincoln St., Buckley.

Earl was born Dec. 23, 1934, in rural Buckley, the son of Henry John and Frieda A. Kottke Rust. He married Eloise Hansens on April 14, 1957, in Champaign. She preceded him in death Feb. 7, 2013.

He is survived by a son, Myron (Belinda) Rust of Buckley; a daughter, Kendra (Bruce) Andree of Champaign; three grandchildren, Jason (Kaci) Rust, Jami (Cory) Roberts and Chase (Elizabeth) Andree; six great-grandchildren, Kylie, Traxton, Brocktyn, Kasen, Kashton and Miles; and a brother, Wayne (Dorothy Karr) Rust of Rankin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a son, Dale; three sisters, Irma Laesch, Marlene Deerwester and Verna Madden; and two brothers, Merle Rust and Harold Rust.

Earl graduated from Buckley High School. He was a lifelong farmer and also did custom grain hauling for a number of years.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Buckley and the I&I Antique Tractor & Gas Engine Club. He enjoyed going to auctions, antiquing and refurbishing farm machinery and equipment.

Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church in Buckley or an organization of the donor's choice. Condolences and memories can be shared with the family at baierfuneralservices.com.
