Rev. Earl Tasby

Earl Tasby was born on July 21, 1967, to Josie Lee Tasby in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was raised by his uncle and aunt, Ernest Melvin and Ada Tasby of Corpus Christi, Texas. He was the first child of two other brothers. He departed this life on Saturday, June 7, 2025.
Earl accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by the late Rev. O.L. Terrel at West Haven Baptist Church. He attended school in the West Oso district, where he played basketball and football. He was called to the ministry under the late Rev. C. L. Jones, of the West Haven Baptist Church. Earl worked faithfully with Rev. Dennis Jones as an Associate Minister and with Rev. Claude Axel at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church. Earl was an active member of the church. He was also a member of the Senior Choir, Men's Chorus, and he was also a Sunday School teacher. Earl would drive the church van and would volunteer wherever he was needed. Earl was very helpful, and he truly was a help mate at the church. Earl was a good speaker, especially about the Word of God, and he also loved to cook.
Earl is preceded in death by his father, Fred Coats, Jr., Ernest Melvin, Ada Tasby Mabunal, grandmother, Louvia Donna Tasby, paternal grandfather, Ernest Tasby, and brother, Warren Lawrence Holt, aunts, Letha Tasby, Ernestine Tasby Battles, Cathy Houston and Crystal Clay.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother, Josie Lee Tasby, his brother, Ernest Lawrence Holt (Michell) sister, Mary Alice Huff of Phoenix, Arizona, his daughter, Dominique Tasby of Corpus Christi, Texas, uncle Ernest D. Tasby (Janell), Eugene Tasby (Louis) of Dallas, Texas, a special friend Mayme Lynn Roberts, extended family, Rev. Quincy (Payton) Mosley and Jasmin Mosley and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at West Haven Baptist Church, 1902 Cliff Maus Dr., Corpus Christi, Texas 78416. To send flowers to the family of Rev., please visit our floral store.
