Earl Trahan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dorman-Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home on Dec. 23, 2025.
Earl Joseph Trahan was born December 9, 1946, and passed away December 22, 2025, at the age of 79.
He was a devoted husband, a loving father and father-in-law, and a loyal friend to many. Known for his strong work ethic and generous heart, Earl was the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.

A hard worker throughout his life, Earl took great pride in providing for his family and leading by example. In his younger years, he worked as a horse trainer, a role that reflected his patience, dedication, and deep respect for hard work. These qualities stayed with him throughout his life and shaped the man his family knew and loved.

Above all, Earl was a family man. He was a great father and husband whose love, guidance, and quiet strength were the foundation of his home. As a father-in-law, he was welcoming, supportive, and proud of the family that grew around him.

In his free time, Earl found joy in the simple things. He loved cooking for those he cared about, working on and admiring old cars, and faithfully cheering on the New York Yankees. These passions brought him happiness and created countless memories shared with family and friends.

Earl will be remembered for his loyalty, kindness, and unwavering dedication to the people he loved. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the meals he shared, the stories he told, and the lives he touched.

He is survived by his children, Ranell Bray and husband Clifford, and Shannon Trahan and fiancé Laura Dennis; granddaughters, Kaylee Bray, and Kinsley Trahan; brothers, Ricky Trahan, and Robert Trahan.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Trahan; parents, Wilson and Ozite Trahan; and brothers, Billy Trahan and Roger Trahan.

Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Dorman-Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 8808 Highway 87 North Orange, Texas. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 29, 2025, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 912 West Cherry Avenue Orange, Texas. Father Antony Paulose will be officiating. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery Orange, Texas.
