Earl Willis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wilbert Funeral Home - Plaquemine on Dec. 31, 2025.
Earl "Bubba" Willis, Jr. a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and family man passed away doing what he loved on Monday, December 29, 2025, at the age of 69. He retired from Placid Refinery as an operator after 35 years of service; was a resident of Brusly and native of Plaquemine, LA. Visitation will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Brusly on Saturday, January 3, 2026, from 9:30am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30am, celebrated by Father Matt Dupre. Entombment will follow at the church cemetery. Bubba is survived by his wife of 45 years, Danette K. Willis; children, Brittany Vincent and husband Anatole, Courtney Purpera and husband Dale, Jr., and Parker Willis and wife Marki; grandchildren, Drake, Cooper and Alyce Vincent, Coy, Dailyn and Kace Purpera, Maggie Louise and Rowdy Willis; siblings, Althea Ourso and husband Frank, Brian Willis and wife Charlotte, Willie Falcon and husband Al, and Erik Willis and wife Patty; mother-in-law, Betty Kane; sister-in-law, Vicki Strickland and husband Danny; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Earl "Red" and Joy Ourso Willis; father-in-law, Dan Kane; and godfather, Nicky Ourso. Bubba was the kind of person whose life revolved around the people he loved, and nothing brought him more joy than his family. He was very devoted to his wife, and their life together was the center of everything he did. His love for her was steady, protective, unwavering and brought him the most comfort. Those who knew Bubba knew how deeply he cherished his wife and his commitment, partnership and love will continue to surround Danette in the days ahead. Bubba was a devoted father who took great pride in his children and the lives they built. Whether through guidance, quiet support, or simply being there when it mattered most, he showed his love in steady and meaningful ways. His children knew they could always count on him. Above all else, he cherished his grandchildren. They were the light of his life and the source of his biggest smiles. He loved spending time with them, telling stories, laughing, and watching them grow. To them, he was more than a grandfather, he was a constant presence of love, patience and warmth. Bubba will be remembered for his kind heart, his dedication to family, and the values he passed down through his children. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave so freely.
