Earla M Blessman

Earla M. Blessman, 83, of Bath, passed away at St. John's Hospital, in Springfield, at 6:43 p.m., on Friday, March 6, 2026. She was born June 13, 1942, in Saidora, to Richard and Leiura (Lippert) Friend. She married Larry Blessman, in Ashland, Illinois, on July 21, 2007 He preceded her in death in 2016.

Mrs. Blessman is survived by one sister: Arveda (Howard) Friend-Pence, of Lincoln; one brother: Duane (Gail) Friend, of Jacksonville; sister-in-law: Bonnie Friend, of San Jose; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister: Donna Thompson, and brother: David Friend.

Mrs. Blessman was of the Methodist faith. She worked for J. Capps & Sons Clothing in Jacksonville, AgRain, Dana-Victor, and Illinois Glove Factory, in Beardstown. She was an avid artist who loved to paint. She painted outdoor scenes on saw blades and customized Christmas cards. She also enjoyed being outdoors and mowing in the summertime. For her whole life, she had taken in and cared for her cats.

Funeral services will be held at Hurley Funeral Home, in Havana, at Noon, on Saturday, March 14, 2026, with visitation one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow the services at Fairview Cemetery, near Bath.
