Earlene Alicia Poole (nèe Blessitt), age 77, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 in Trenton, New Jersey. Earlene was born on August 3, 1943 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Earl Blessitt and Irene Blessitt. She was an only child.

Earlene is a graduate of Schenley High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She also earned an Associate's degree in Business Administration from Duff's Business Institute in Pittsburgh, PA; earned a Bible Studies certificate from the Harty Bible School in Pittsburgh, PA; studied psychology at the University of Pittsburgh; studied medical assisting at Mercer County Community College in New Jersey; and went to school for fashion design. She possessed an inquisitive spirit and loved education. For her, taking classes was not necessarily about obtaining a degree or for employment, but, oftentimes, for the sake of simply learning.

Her lifetime interests included partying, gaming, bowling, dining out, traveling, watching sports, attending outdoor festivals and concerts, education and learning, and spending time with family. She loved reading the Bible, listening to gospel music, and watching T.D. Jakes. She also loved listening to Luther Vandross and other R&B artists. She participated in the woman's bowling and softball leagues at the U.S. Postal Service and won several trophies. She was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steeler's fan. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Earlene worked at the U.S. Postal Service for over 30 years until her retirement. Following her retirement from the U.S. Postal Service, she obtained a Class B CDL, and worked as a school bus driver and school bus aid. Also, in her post-retirement years, she worked as a security guard, newspaper delivery woman, cashier at a local grocery store, and medical assistant. She enjoyed adventure and embodied an incomparable work ethic. She welcomed the opportunity to work in different capacities, to meet new people, to help people, and did not let her health challenges deter her. She primarily resided in New Jersey from 2000 until her passing.

Earlene Alicia Poole is survived by her two children – Lisa Carter, Tremayne Poole; her son-in-law and daughter in-law – Kevin Carter, Hillary Poole; five grandchildren – Blair Poole, Sasha Poole, Irene Poole, Naseem Carter, and Sunil Carter; great-grandson – Kaleb Poole; her step-daughter – Natalie Poole and her children; and her stepson's - Richard Poole, Jr. - children.

Earlene is predeceased by her parents Earl Blessitt and Irene Blessitt, her husband Richard Poole, and her stepson Richard Poole, Jr.
