Earlene Shupe, 87, of Greenup, Illinois passed away at 7:17 a.m. on Thursday January 16, 2025, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday January 22, 2025, at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Greenup Cemetery.
Earlene was born on September 2, 1937, in Greenup to Harvey and Ethel (Neese) Carl. She married Carl Shupe on March 3, 1956 and he preceded her in death on February 11, 2020.
Survivors include her daughter Brenda (John) Cunningham; grandsons Mitch (Holli) Morgan, Zac (Andrea) Morgan, and Chris Cunningham; great-grandsons Cooper, Judson, Kailey and Mia; brothers Larry (Barb) Carl, Harvey "Bud" (Sis) Carl, Randy "Tiny" (Jan Dobbs) Carl; sisters Donna Kimble, Doris Houser, and Terri (Mike) Nickles. Earlene was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother Ruth "Po" Carl; brothers David, Harlan, and Troy Carl, and her loving daughter Vickie Marlene Shupe who passed away in 1966.
Earlene was a cook at Cumberland School District Unit #77 for many years. She was also an active member of the Greenup Presbyterian Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Greenup Presbyterian Church.
