Funeral service for Earnest Harold Anderson, 91 of Piedmont will be held 2pm Friday, May 16, 2025 at Glencoe Hokes Bluff Funeral Home. Pastor David Cox will be officiating the service. Burial will follow at Youngs Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5pm-7pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Anderson passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at his home.
He is preceded in death by his son, Steve Anderson; parents, Preston and Grace Anderson; and 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 69 years, Evelyn Anderson; daughter, Tammy (Joseph) Driskill; sons, Gary (Tina) Anderson, Eric Anderson, Ernie Anderson,; grandchildren, Derrick (Stacy) Anderson, Zack (Kim) Anderson, Nathan Anderson, Kyle (Emily) Anderson, Reece (Allison) Anderson, Austin (Stephanie) Anderson, Jade (Jordan) McCartney, Dane Driskill, Alissa (Christian) Pell, and Colton Anderson; 18 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Robinson (Tony); and a host of nieces and nephews.
Harold was the oldest of 8 kids born to Preston and Grace. He was a member of Piedmont Church of God. He taught Sunday school and was church clerk for 35 years. He was a past president of the Hokes Bluff Lions Club where he served for over 20 years and he had received many awards, to name a few, he was a Melvin Jones Fellow, 2 years Lion of the Year (2008-2009,2015-2016), and 2022 Hometown Hero Award. He was also a member of Hokes Bluff Senior and Friends. He graduated from Cherokee County High School. Mr. Anderson retired from Republic Steel after 44 years. He also was a volunteer grounds keeper for Taylor Chapel Cemetery. Harold was a born-again Christian in 1964 and has lived his life as an example of a faithful servant.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Derrick Anderson, Zack Anderson, Reece Anderson, Austin Anderson, Dane Driskill, and Colton Anderson.
Honorary Pallbearers will be his only 2 granddaughters, Jade and Alissa, members of the Hokes Bluff Lions Club and the New Hope Bible Study Group.

Mr Anderson was a customer of ours before I retired from the bank. He was a true example of a born again Christian always had a smile for everyone. I know heaven welcomed him with open arms.
