Charles H. "Charlie" Wynn, 79 of Milner, widower of Sherryl Lynn Warmath Wynn, died Friday, May 30, 2025, at his home.
Born in Canton, June 26, 1945, he was a son of the late Lee Faite Wynn and Thelma Louise Abercrombie Wynn. Charlie was a graduate of Cherokee County High School and attended University of Tennessee Martin, where he met Sherryl and played football for two years. He later graduated from the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy. Charlie was owner and operator of Wynn's Pharmacy from 1983-2006. He was a Veteran of the Army National Guard. He was a member of the Griffin Moose Lodge #1503 and was formerly a member of the Griffin Rotary Club. Charlie was an avid golfer and loved dancing and traveling. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog football fan and season ticket holder. He hardly ever missed watching a game. Charlie was a licensed pilot and enjoyed flying, having his own plane for over ten years. He was affectionately known by his grandchildren as "Grand Charlie", a name that became a nickname used by many others who loved him.
Mr. Wynn was a member of Trinity Methodist Church, where he was a member of the Men's Bible Class. He loved teaching God's word at the church and at home whenever possible. He had a Men's Prayer Group every Wednesday morning at his home for over forty years.
In addition to his parents and wife of fifty-two years, Mr. Wynn was preceded in death by four brothers, Lee Wynn, Robert Wynn, Ken Wynn and Jim Wynn.
Surviving are his children, Andrea Cowden and husband, Clay; son, Chuck Wynn; grandchildren, Alice Claire Cowden, Kenna Cowden and Charlie Wynn; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 12:00 Noon from the Chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home with Reverend Debby Stikes and Reverend Daryl Brown officiating. Inurnment will be private.
The family will receive friends Saturday at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until the service hour.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests memorials be made to Trinity Methodist Church Building Fund, PO Box 2148, Griffin, GA 30224, or to Young Life of Griffin, PO Box 376, Griffin, GA 30224.
