Dorothy McMahon Johnson

Dorothy McMahon "Dottie" Johnson, age 69, of Griffin, GA, went home to be with the Lord on October 13, 2025.
Dottie was born on April 12, 1956, a daughter of the late V.E. McMahon and Betty Whitfield. In addition to her parent's, she was preceded in death by siblings, Tanya McMahon and Danny McMahon.
Dottie's faith in the Lord guided her every decision; she was passionate about those within her circle knowing and accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
She retired from United Bank as a Senior Processor for the Mortgage Department. The faithfulness of her efforts, her diligence and commitment to serve with integrity were rewarded by the company when she was awarded Employee of the Year for the Mortgage Division.
Dottie embodied love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness and faithfulness. She wholeheartedly served the Lord, her husband, children, grandchildren with impact and hope. She was a prayer warrior that possessed a quick-witted and clever sense of humor. She enjoyed worship music, reading the Word on her back porch, following and encouraging involvement in the nation's politics and gathering together with food/gifts to give to her children and grandchildren. Dottie's legacy of love, faith, and grace lives on through her family but will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her husband Jerry Johnson; daughter, Tanya (Paul) Drennan; sons, Jason (Jennifer) Johnson, Jonathan (Ashley) Johnson; brother, Marcus (Joyce) McMahon; sister, Becky Callaway; grandchildren, Bryson & Makenzie Johnson, Joshua & Jeremiah Drennan and Samuel Johnson; step-grandchildren, Maddy Cofer, Brayden Skinner, Clayton Womble, Olivia (Evan) Stilley; and step-great grandchild Adalynn Stilley.
A celebration of Dottie's life and faith will be held on Monday, October 20, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Lifesong Church (1820 South 6th Street, Griffin, GA 30224) with Pastor Rusty Sharp of New Covenant Family Ministries and Pastor Mark James with Lifesong Church officiating. Private burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday, October 19, 2025, from 4-6PM at Haisten McCullough Funeral Home (1155 Everee Inn Road, Griffin, GA 30224).
