Earnest "Pat" Monroe Anderson was born November 21, 1951 in Duncan, Oklahoma to H.C. "Buzz" and Jesse Lois "Mama Lois" (White) Anderson. He completed his earthly journey on Sunday, August 24, 2025, near Duncan with family at his side.
A Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday, August 30, at 2:00 P.M. in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel officiated by James Mitchell.
From a young age, Pat was a bull rider, calf roper, and was a member of the Duncan High School Rodeo Club. He also wrestled and boxed. After graduating from high school, Pat continued to rodeo. He also raised quarter horses and border collie dogs. He took in many strays, both animals and people, and loved them like his own. Pat was selfless, and never hesitated to help a friend. He was loved by all children and animals. He was an avid concert goer, and enjoyed country music. Pat was well known in his community as the propane man, due to his company, Pat Anderson Propane.
Pat and Darla DeShong were married on Pat's birthday in 1985 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Their marriage lasted 31 years until Darla's death in 2016.
Preceded in death by his parents, wife, and son, Casey Anderson. Pat is survived by his daughter, Cortney and husband Tim Griffith; son, Nick Bruehl; five grandchildren: Marlee Raye Holt, Zachary Griffith, Kymrie Griffith, Cole Anderson, and Cailyn Anderson, along with many others that called him "Papa." He is also survived by his brother, Mike Anderson; and sister, Kathy Thomas.
