Funeral services for Earnest Wayne King, 79, of Louisiana will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, October 20, 2025 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe with Rev. Lance Otwell officiating. Interment will follow immediately after at Kilpatrick’s Serenity Gardens Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home.
The visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Sunday, October 19, 2025 at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
Mr. King was born on October 8, 1946, in Delhi, Louisiana and passed away on October 14, 2025, in Foley, Alabama.
Earnest was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He was known as Kay’s angel and was the most amazing husband to her. He was easy to love, always smiling, and had an infectious laugh and great sense of humor. Earnest was great at drowning people out with his T.V. He was an avid sports fan and loved the New Orleans Saints since the beginning of the franchise. He loved his Harley Davidson motorcycles. Earnest was also the Vice President of the Road Baron’s for fifteen years. Before retirement, Mr. King worked for Foster Farms in Farmerville, Louisiana and worked as an industrial construction worker.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jack King; mother, Lorraine King; sister, Jackie Coon and Jean McIntosh; twin boys, Kenneth and Anthony King; and great granddaughter, Gena Rose Frith.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Sharon Kay Hollis-King; children from the marriage of Earnest and Evon King: Tonya Monk (Matt), Tammy Roberts, Jason King (Haley), Misty Thompson (Alton), Windy Horton (Daniel), and Merick King; twenty grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren.
Earnest and Kay’s Children, Jessica Bennett (Larry), Clint Hollis (Susie), Clayton Hollis (Anna), and Maryann Hollis; fourteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
The pallbearers will be Aiden Johnson, Matt Monk, Michael Smith, Dalton Hollis, Justin Hollis, and Matt Roberts.
