Earnest Keith (Buddy) Wriston

Earnest Keith (Buddy) Wriston, 79, of Mount Hope, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. 

Born April 2, 1946, at Pax, he was the son of the late Albert and Clara (Williams) Wriston. 

Earnest was a retired coal miner and was a member of the Willis Branch Community Church in Pax. 

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife, Louise Elaine Wriston; siblings, Sylvia Jean Pennington, Loraine Mae Baxter, Nancy June Wriston, Bertha Pearl Wriston, Denny Ray Wriston, Everette Junior Wriston; granddaughters, Olivia and Paisley; and nephews, Willard Ray Pennington, Barry Lynn Davis, Roger Lynn Baxter, and Johnny Vernon Pennington. 

Those left to cherish his memory include his children and spouses, Earnest Steven Wriston, Jimmy Wriston and Crystal, Tina Runyon and Richard, Michael Wriston, Susan Brown, Amanda Gray and Chad, Jacob Wriston and Evelyn, and Lori Wriston; siblings and spouses, Anna Davis and Leonard and Keith "Dukey" Wriston and Frances; sixteen grandchildren and spouses, Josh Wriston and Crystal, Jessie Wriston and Rita, Keith Wriston and Devin, Jonathon Wriston and Jessica, Christian Runyon and Felicia, Elizabeth Shrewsbury and Ethan, Jamie Wriston, Katie Becker and J.J., Halie Puckett and Robert, Kassidy Currey and Dakota, Samantha Bryant and Anthony, Jordan Gray and Jessica, Hannah Graham and Tyler, Emrie Kate Richardson; thirty-one great grandchildren, Jace, Jaxon, Isabella, Annabella, Eva, Rhayna, Rylan, Taegan, Talie, Topanga, Colton Magnolia, Brelynn, Granger, Riley, Dominic, Ryleigh, Houston, Callie, Delainee, Braxton, Noah, Aleigha, Gracelyn, Brinley, Ema, Remington, Gunner, Jaxen, Jaylee, Jamison, Walter, and Waylon; fifteen nieces and nephews; thirty-one great nieces and nephews; and many friends. 

Services will be 1:00 P.M., Thursday, October 9, 2025 at the Pax Advent Church, Pax with Rev. Clara Thompson officiating. Buril will follow in the Thompson Cemetery, Bee Branch Road, Pax, WV. 

Friends may call after 6:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at the church. 

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
