Earther Mae Thomas-Anderson, 92, passed away on Wednesday, July 9th, 2025. Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, July 25th, 2025 at 11 am at Griffin Mortuary Chapel. Private Disposition under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Earther Mae Thomas-Anderson was born November 2,1932 to the parentage of the late Joe Thomas Sr. and Earther Hardaway-Thomas in Gonzales, TX. The family moved to Seguin, TX when she was a young child. Earther was affectionately known as "Lucy" to all her family and friends. Lucy accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized in the Guadalupe River by Rev. Harrison Smith of Saint James Baptist Church in Seguin, TX.
Lucy attended Lizzie M. Burgess Elementary, and she graduated from Ball High School in 1953. She moved to Lubbock, TX in 1954. She was united in Marriage to Willie Anderson in 1959 and to this union one daughter, Laura Mae Anderson- Standberry born in 1960.
Lucy was a hard worker; she held several different positions as well as worked alongside her husband for 38 years with Willie's Janitorial Service. Lucy was also an avid bowler; she bowled in regular leagues, traveling leagues, and achieved great success and was recipient of many trophies.
Lucy was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Eartha Thomas, her husband Willie Anderson, daughter Laura Anderson- Standberry, one sister, Annias Carter. three brothers, Albert Thomas, Joe Thomas Jr, and Bennie Thomas Sr.
Lucy leaves to cherish her memory seven sisters, her twin Ethel Walker, and Rosa Johns (Earnest) both of Lubbock, TX, Mary Taylor of Lincoln, TX, Matilda Sexton of Seguin, TX, Joanna Jackson, Betty Thomas, and Sarah Henderson (Fred) all of San Antonio, TX and a host of nieces, nephews and family.
