MOULTONBOROUGH ---- Eda Ann Woodward Watson, 88, of Davis Lane, Moultonborough, NH, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on October 27, 1936, in Laconia, NH, Eda was the daughter of Walter and Elva (Colcord) Woodward. She was a proud graduate of Laconia High School, Class of 1954. A lifelong resident of the Lakes Region, Eda dedicated her life to her family and community.
Eda and her beloved husband, Daniel Watson, raised five children together, first in Gilford, and later in Moultonborough, where she remained for the rest of her life. Eda was the heart of her family and a steady presence in the operation of their family business, Long Island Bridge Campground, where she managed the office for more than 30 years. Her sense of humor, dedication, and attention to detail made her a favorite among campers and coworkers alike.
When the campground closed for the season, Eda and Daniel enjoyed traveling the country in their RV, spending winters in Arizona and Florida, and cherishing the simple joys of life on the road.
Eda is survived by her children and their families: Jack and Michele Watson, of Merrimack, NH; Jeff and Tanya Watson, of Moultonborough, NH; Stephen Watson, of Moultonborough, NH; Kathy Lawrence, of Moultonborough, NH; and Amy Watson and Tom Allaire, of Long Valley, NJ. She also leaves behind her daughter-in-law, Rachel Watson, and grandchildren Olivia and Adam, of Moultonborough. Additional grandchildren include Jennifer Elliott, Jamie McCuddy, Traci Boren, Ty, Travis, Eric, Alec, and Thomas Watson. She is also survived by her grandson-in-law, Scott Elliott; great-grandchildren Grace, Caroline, and Ian Elliott; and Adalyn, Aria, and Annalise Watson, of Washington State, and Quinn Boren, of Georgia. She is fondly remembered by her sister-in-law, Linda Woodward, of Newport Richie, Florida and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Eda was predeceased by her sister Fay Poirrier and brother-in-law Henry Poirrier, of St. Petersburg, Florida; brother Glen Woodward, of Newport Richie, Florida; daughter-in-law Gayla Watson; and grandson Beau Watson, of Moultonborough, NH.
There will be no calling hours.
A private graveside service will be held at the Watson Family Cemetery in Moultonborough.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Quality Care Home Health and Hospice for their compassionate and supportive assistance during Eda's final days.
Eda will be remembered for her steadfast love, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the memories of those who loved her.
In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that you consider making a donation to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741, or Quality Care Home Health and Hospice, PO Box 32, Center Harbor, NH 03226.
