A Celebration of life for Eddie H. Edwards, 76, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, March 5, 2024, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service on Tuesday.
Eddie was born March 27, 1947, in Monroe, LA, and passed away February 16, 2024, in West Monroe, LA.
Eddie was the only child of Velma and Jesse Edwards. He attended St. Paschal’s Catholic church where he served as an altar boy. His sophomore year he decided to become a West Monroe Rebel where he graduated in 1965. He then attended Northeast Louisiana University. In 1967 he was drafted into the U.S Army where he served his country honorably in the Vietnam War. He met his wife, Gale, of 52 years in 1969.
Eddie was a fan of his home state football teams, the New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers. He thoroughly enjoyed watching the history channel. He was also a founding member of Vietnam Veterans of America, Monroe Chapter.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Velma Edwards.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 52 years, Gale Edwards; children, Jamie Edwards and Jennifer Daniel and her husband, James; grandchildren, Kennedy Edwards and his wife, April, Reagen Bush and her husband, Kyler, Gavyn Edwards, Garrett Edwards, Evan LaMartiniere, and Rebecca Andreasen and her husband, Caleb.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Shriners Hospital, or the Chenault Aviation Museum.
