With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of Eddie Stephenson on November 5, 2024, at the age of 65. His passion for his family was immeasurable, and he treasured every moment spent with them.
A man of unwavering faith, Eddie was an esteemed member of Longview First Church, finding solace and happiness among his church family. His love for gospel music was undeniable, and he found joy in exploring garage sales and thrift stores in search of hidden treasures. Eddie's dedicated years in management at Bealls and other retail stores and eventually owning his very own thrift store as well as working at Kilgore News Herald for a time. In his later years, Eddie enjoyed crafts and games during his stay at the nursing home.
Eddie's memory will forever be etched in the hearts of his family and friends. Eddie is survived by his beloved wife, Melodi Stephenson; daughter, Emily Jones and husband Justin; son, Thomas Stephenson and wife Tiffany; sister Vann Elaine Stephenson; as well as numerous grandchildren.
Eddie is preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Marjorie Stephenson.
A public viewing will be held on November 8, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater, TX, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm to honor and commemorate Eddie's life. Following the service, a burial will take place at Gladewater Memorial Park.
In this time of grief and remembrance, let us come together to celebrate the life of Eddie Stephenson, a man who touched the hearts of many with his kindness and love. May his spirit guide us and his memories inspire us.
