Edgar Soralbo Austodillo Born in San Juan City, Philippines, on September 2, 1953 Passed in Watsonville, California, on June 24, 2025 With deep love and profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Edgar S. Austodillo-a devoted husband, beloved father, and quiet force of strength-who departed this life in Watsonville, California. Born on September 2, 1953, in San Juan City, Philippines, to Pepe and Fresca Austodillo, Edgar immigrated to the United States in 1984 and found work at Oak Meadows Mushroom where he met his wife and many of his lifelong friends. He then went on to diligently serve the County of Santa Cruz for nearly two decades before retiring in 2014. Edgar lived a life marked by integrity, resilience, and humility. A man of quiet wisdom, his actions spoke louder than words. Whether offering advice, lending a hand, or simply being present, he left a lasting imprint on everyone who knew him. His strength was unwavering, and his love for his family was limitless. He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara; his two children, Edgar Jr. and Maresca, who will carry his legacy forward with love and pride; and his siblings, Lisa, Eloisa, and Elma. He was a constant source of support, a protector, and a teacher-not only to his family, but to many who looked up to him as a father figure. A rosary service to honor and celebrate Edgar's life will be held on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at Mehl's Colonial Chapel in Watsonville, California. A funeral Mass will follow on Monday, July 14, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church, with burial to follow at Valley Public Cemetery. The family invites all who knew and loved him to attend, share memories, and honor a life well-lived. In lieu of flowers, please consider honoring Edgar's memory by spending intentional time with loved ones and extending kindness to others-just as he did, every day. Forever missed, endlessly loved, and never forgotten.
