Aniceto Antuna passed away on February 23, 2025. He was 79 years of age.
Aniceto was born in Weslaco, Texas, on November 23, 1945, to his proud parents Eusebio and Theresa Antuna. He grew up in a large and loving family, working in the cotton fields and agriculture.
After finishing his education, he went on to obtain a degree from the California Christian University. He traveled to Central America and Mexico, where he preached the gospel. He was a local pastor from 1980 to 2019 at the Templo Jerusalem. He was an evangelist for many years, visiting and praying for the sick, and performing many weddings and funerals. In his free time, he loved reading his Bible and listening to Jimmy Swaggert preach, as well as listening to gospel music and Elvis Presley. He enjoyed being outdoors, planting his summer garden.
One of his favorite pastimes was riding, and spending time with his prized horses. His lifelong dream was having a horse one day, which came true when he got his beloved horse El Rey! Of course, El Rey needed a friend, so eventually he got La Princesa. His good friend Billy Martinez taught him how to train and ride his horses.
Aniceto is survived by his beloved wife of 17 years Lucina, his son Adrian Allen, and his siblings, Tony (Lucy), Manuela (Pete), Armando, Anita (Albert), Seb (Maria), Adalia (Joe), and Adam. He also leaves behind his uncle Arturo, and his aunt Elba, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Aniceto was preceded in death by his parents Eusebio and Theresa, his first wife Rosie, his sister-in-law Marina, and his brothers, Jose, Albert, and Abel.
A viewing will be held at Mehl's Colonial Chapel – 222 E. Lake Avenue, on Monday, March 17, 2025, from 5pm to 9pm. Burial will be at Valley Public Cemetery – 2445 E. Lake Avenue, on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at 11am.
