Edgar H. Fritz, a devoted husband, loving father, and esteemed member of the military community, passed away on February 7, 2024, surrounded by loving family. He was born on January 6, 1942, in Fürstenfeldbruck, Germany to Helmut Fritz and Lisa (Binder) Fritz.

Edgar's life was marked by remarkable achievements and unwavering dedication. He served in the US Air Force and National Guard for 38 years. As an aircraft mechanic, he utilized his expertise and skills to ensure the safety and efficiency of countless aircraft. Edgar proudly served in Vietnam for 15 months and continued to make significant contributions throughout his military career.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Edgar valued education and pursued further studies at New Hampshire College after his military service. This academic pursuit allowed him to broaden his horizons and deepen his knowledge in a field that complemented his talents.

Beyond his career and education, Edgar possessed a zest for life that extended into various hobbies. Airplanes held a special place in his heart—his love for them was unmatched. He enjoyed working on his Thunderbird (T-Bird), always with the spirit of a true mechanic wanting to fix everything he got his hands on. Known as a "ham & Egger," he always pursued challenges as they arose. He found joy in working on anything with an engine while doing yardwork. He thrived on staying busy and derived tremendous satisfaction from actively engaging with the world around him. For over 50 years, he created cherished memories while vacationing at Squam Lake every summer—a tradition that brought him immense happiness year after year.

Edgar H. Fritz will be deeply missed by his beloved wife Delores Fritz, his daughter Heidi Odum and her husband Bryan, and his son Brian Fritz and his wife Kristin. He was a doting Opa to Delaney, Riley, Piper, Grayson, and Noah. Edgar's passing leaves a void in the lives of his extended family members and friends who cherished his presence throughout the years.

Calling Hours for Edgar will be held on February 15th from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes, 243 Hanover St, Manchester, NH. The following day, February 16th, a burial service will take place at New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH at 10:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Edgar's name to the Wounded Warriors Project, so that others may benefit from the same love and support that he bestowed upon countless lives.
