Edgar E. Lafleur, 89, passed away on Tuesday August 19, 2025 at the Coos County Nursing Home, where he has resided with his wife, Anna. He was born in Berlin on March 28, 1936 the son of Helen Hupy (Oleson) and Elzear “Pete” Lafleur and attended school in Berlin, NH and Portland, ME and was a graduate of Berlin High School. He served in the US Army from 1954 to 1957, where he served with the Eleventh Airborne Division “Artic Angels” and he had received the Good Conduct Medal.
He married his wife, Anna May Croteau, on July 24, 1965. Edgar was previously employed as a Supervisor at Granite State Rubber Company, (Converse), and American Skate before becoming a dispatcher for St. Johnsbury Trucking and later at America’s Best Freight (ABF) in Scarborough, ME. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing broomball, volleyball, golfing, skydiving, fishing, spending time at Success Pond and enjoying time with his family and friends. He will fondly be remembered for his sense of humor and willingness to always lend a hand when one was needed. He was a former member of the Elks Club where he had served as secretary, and the Moose Club, where he had served as Vice President.
Family includes his wife of 60 years Anna (Croteau) Lafleur of Berlin, NH; children Richard Leclerc and wife Teri of Goose Creek, SC, Michelle Lemoine and husband Ronald Jr. of Berlin, NH and Kimberly Waddell and husband Charles of Saco, ME; grandchildren Ricky Leclerc of Knightsville, SC, Rayven Waddell and fiancé Ethan Chadwick and Logan Waddell all of Saco, ME and great grandchildren Skylar Leclerc and Raylee Leclerc of Charleston, SC.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday August 29, 2025 at 1 PM at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin. Interment will be at a later date in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday August 29 from 12 to 1 PM, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or to the Coos County Nursing Home, PO Box 416, Berlin, NH, 03570. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the Coos County Nursing Home for the care, love and compassion provided to him during his stay at their home.
