Edgar (Jim) Leon Lewis,89,of Smithsburg, MD passed away at his home on June 13,2024, surrounded by his family.
Jim was born in Foxville, MD on February 16,1935 to the late Daniel Lewis and Hattie (Lewis) Lewis.
He was proceeded in death by wife Phyllis(Mason) Lewis and infant son Randy Lewis, and by 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
He was a member of Sharpsburg Bible Church in Sharpsburg, MD.
Jim was employed as an assistant superintendent for Morgan Keller Construction for 27 years until his retirement in 2000. He was previously employed at Waynesboro Shoe Factory and Winebrenner Motors.
Jim is survived by his son Douglas Lewis (Norma) of Smithsburg, MD, daughter Brenda (Lewis) Griffiths of Joppa, Md, granddaughters, Heather Saville(Steve) of Keedysville, MD, Brittany Gibson (Jeff) of Deltona,FL, Marisa Simmons of Royal Oak,MI, Lauren Griffiths of Joppa, MD, grandson Caleb Griffiths of Joppa, MD.6 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren,numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home in Smithsburg, MD for a memorial service on July 27,2024 at 11 am with Pastor Gene Renner officiating.
