Edgar A. Mitchell, of Warminster, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 9, 2025. He was 85. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Jane M. Mitchell.

Ed, as he was known to many, was born in Norristown to Edgar and Genette Mitchell, Ed graduated from Plymouth Whitemarsh High School before enlisting in the United States Air Force.

A proud veteran, Ed served 4 years in the U.S. Air Force attaining the rank of Airman first class before his retirement on November 9, 1964. He was stationed at Otis Air Force Base in Massachusetts where he was a proud member of the 26th Air Defense Missile Squadron as a military policeman. Ed completed his service while overseas in France. As he was serving his country Ed earned the "Good Conduct Medal"

Upon returning home Ed began his career as an industrial gas salesman for Burdette while attending night school at Temple University to obtain his bachelor's degree. Ed attained a management position with MG Industries where he received many sales awards. Ed went on to own William Welding Supplies before retiring with MG Industries.

Ed's passion, from his earliest childhood as a boy scout, was to leave a lasting impact on his community and country. Ed was a dedicated member of Bethesda Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder and deacon. Ed emphasized his moral and spiritual values as a devoted Mason and Masonic Motorcycle Club member out of the Plymouth Meeting Lodge. To showcase his never-ending pride and service to the country, Ed dedicated his time as a member of the Guardians of Washington Crossing National Cemetery, the honor guard that ensures that no veteran is laid to rest without the honor they deserve.

Ed enjoyed golfing with friends and hunting deer, bear, and wild boar. He took great pride in his home and worked extremely hard to keep it beautiful.

Along with his wife, Jane, Ed is survived by his children: Douglas Mitchell and Kimberly Kelly and her husband Jim, grandchildren: Amanda, Douglas, James, Colin and sister Geraldine Heck. He was preceded in death by his sister Shirley Pichon. He will be missed by all who love him.
