Edith Louise Branstrom

Edith Louise Branstrom, 87, Park Rapids, MN passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at Vitality Living in Park Rapids.
Edith was born May 17, 1938 in Perham, MN to Herman and Henrietta (Abel) Walde. She graduated from Park Rapids High School. A year later she married Richard Branstrom and they had 5 children, Mike, Linda, Mark, David, and Mary. Richard passed away in 1977. Edith married Larry Broadbent and they lived in Osage where Edith was post mistress of the Osage Post Office. They later moved to the Broadbent family farm in Park Rapids.
Edith was active in the Osage Lion's Club for many years and was a recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award. She played Mrs. Claus at the Osage School and went all out decorating for Christmas and all the holidays. She hosted the holidays for all her family with wonderful feasts she prepared, including Lutefisk and ham. She loved to cook and bake, and eventually made cookbooks for all her family. She gardened and canned while raising her family and went deer hunting. Edith loved hats, earrings, and matching accessories. She enjoyed going to NASCAR races. She collected antiques, Santa Clauses, thimbles, stamps, and spoons. Edith loved the company of her family and will be greatly missed.
Edith is survived by her children, Mike (Jodi), Mark (Karen), David (Peggy), Mary (Dave) Gronlund; 10 grandchildren, Levi, Jenna, Lee, Adam, Kayla, Richard, Kimberly, James Branstrom, Corey, Ryan Gronlund; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Richard "Dick" Branstrom; second husband, Larry Broadbent; daughter, Linda Branstrom; her brother, Kenneth Walde; and great-grandchild, Tucker Branstrom.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 10, 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Park Rapids with visitation beginning at 9:00 AM.
