Edith Louise Crone, age 96, of Humble, Texas passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024. She was born in Houston, Texas on December 1, 1927 to parents M.S. Deaton Sr. and Minnie Lee Deaton.
Edith met Cecil, the love of her life, on the city bus and the two were married on December 1, 1947. She had a passion for her family, especially her great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Cecil Crone; son, Gary Crone; parents, M.S and Minnie Lee Deaton; 3 brothers; 1 sister; and son-in-law, Larry Rhea.
Edith is survived by her daughters, Peggy Rhea, and Lisa Gaskin (Anthony); daughter-in-law, Susan Crone; grandchildren, Sheryl Rucker (Steve), Teresa Swingle (Brian), Brandon Gaskin (Candace), Leslie Cuevas (Edgar), Melissa Allen, Elizabeth Winstead (Nick), and Scott Nixdorf (Nicole); great grandchildren, Addison Swingle, Landon Swingle, Kayden Gaskin, Kallie Gaskin, Elisa Cuevas, Angelle Rucker, Logan White, Brian Winstead, Brantley Winstead, Carter Allen, Hudson Allen, Stephan Best, and Lucas Nixdorf.
Special thanks to all our friends and family for the prayers and thoughts they shared over the past four weeks.
A graveside service for Edith will be held Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 3:30 PM at Brookside Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039.
Serving as pallbearers are Anthony Gaskin, Brandon Gaskin, Edgar Cuevas, Brian Swingle, Landon Swingle and Steve Rucker.
