Edith Sweene Diuguid, the only child of Francis Henry and Wilhelmina Eleanor "Bess" Sweene, was born February 16, 1932, in Frostburg, Maryland.

She met the love of her life, John Powell Diuguid, in high school. They married in 1954 and enjoyed 53 years of marriage.

Edith was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Randolph Macon College in Virginia. Edith went on to be a teacher, librarian, and office manager for several high-end department stores. But her greatest vocations were mother and grandmother to five children. seventeen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

As she is reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband and son, Edith will be remembered for her wit, generosity, artistic talent and incredible style.
