Edith "Marcella" Eads 86 of Kansas, AL passed away December 21, 2024 in her home. She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Evelyn Pierce; four brothers Rudolph, Ralph, Donel, and Ronel Pierce; her husband Joe Edward Eads of 65 years.
She is survived by her daughters Teresa Eads and Kelli Parker(Shan); grandchildren Haley and Noah Parker; two brothers Johnny Ray Pierce and Neal Samuels; special nephew Joe Jones and his dog Little Bit as well as a whole host of family and friends.
Marcella married Joe Eads on September 29, 1956 and never finished school. After marriage, she became a wife and mother as well as worked at Arrow Shirt Factory for 18 years. After the plant closed, she went back to school and got her GED. Then, she completed a CNA nursing program. After graduation, she went to work at Walker Baptist for 10 years. Then, she went to work for New Beacon Hospice for 13 years. She was forced to retire because of cancer. The battle with cancer began 2001 and finally ended 2024. Marcella spent 45 years at Kansas Baptist Church serving in the nursery and kitchen. Then, she spent 6 years serving at Eldridge Baptist Church.
We are grateful for the treatment of Dr. Steve Johnson, Center Well Home Health(Raina Elkins), and Amedisys Hospice(especially Valerie and Dee).
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 26, 2024, at Kansas Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 10:30am-12:00pm, with funeral services to follow at 12:00pm. Burial will be at Carbon Hill Memorial Cemetery.
