Edith Hennacy Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary and Cemetery - Scottsdale on Dec. 8, 2025.
Edie V. Hennacy, 93 years old, of Cave Creek, Arizona passed away on December 4th, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Eddie, Harold, Harlan, sister Sherrie and her husband Wayne.
Edie was born on December 22, 1931 in Warren, Ohio to Ralph and Anna Reihard. On September 8, 1951 she married the love of her life, Wayne W. Hennacy Jr. of Warren, Ohio. Wayne and Edie had three children, Wayne (WIII), Rhonda, Colleen, along with two grandchildren, Shane and Erin and two great- granddaughters Adelyn and Zoey.
Edie was an entrepreneur and successfully owned and operated several different businesses during her lifetime. She started with a candy store in Ohio where she was known for her hand dipped chocolates. When the family moved to Arizona in 1963, she started a jeep discovery tour company. The family settled in the Cave Creek, AZ area where the family home of 50 years was built. She fell in love with the desert and it showed in her journals that she wrote in daily until the day she passed away. She finished her working career at LaPaloma, a fine upscale gift shop in Carefree, Arizona.
When Wayne and Edie retired, they spent the rest of their married life traveling and spending time with their family. Edie loved antiquing so every trip involved antique shopping and filling up the van.
She was an amazing individual who was inspired by so many things that made her artistic side come out in either drawing, painting, or writing poetry. Everyone that knew her always felt her love, encouragement, support and kindness.
There will be a private family service at this time. A celebration of life to be held at a later date. Edie will be laid to rest at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
