Edith J. Knode
YORK – Edith J. (Trimer) Knode, 93, entered into rest at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at WellSpan York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Harry E. Knode.
Born August 24, 1930 in Huntingdon, she was a daughter of the late Regis G. & Emma M. (Batzel) Trimer.
Edith was a hairdresser for 20 years and retired from Burlington Coat Factory. She was a devout Catholic who enjoyed reading and puzzle books.
Edith is survived by her three children, Mona Rector of New Salem, Theodore Knode and wife, Susan of Millerstown and Regis Knode of Chino, AZ; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; a sister, Martha Ruth Culp of Linglestown; and a step-sister, Mary Katherine Abraham of Niles, OH. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers.
Following cremation, relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Edith's memorial service at 12 noon and the visitation from 11 a.m. to 12 noon on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 47 N. Queen St., Dover. Officiating will be Deacon Tom Ballinger of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spring Grove. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
