Edith C. Lindsell, age 99, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on December 16, 2025, at Brookview Health Care Center, Menno Haven Brookside campus. Born April 8, 1926, in Gettysburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harold B. and Mary (Scott) Carbaugh.

After graduating from Gettysburg High School, she attended State Teachers College in Indiana, PA. Working in the library field for over 60 years, she was employed at the State Library in Harrisburg, public libraries in Adams, Beaver and Franklin Counties, and the Ezra Lehman Library at Shippensburg University.

She was an active member of the Presbyterian Church of the Falling Spring, serving as an elder and church librarian, Conococheague Audubon Society, and the Chambersburg Quilt Guild. Before retiring in 1989, she enjoyed travel to almost every US state and 19 countries including Australia, Colombia, England, India, and Israel.

She is survived by her daughter Joan Cressler Karasick and her husband Stanley of Media, PA; 2 grandchildren David Karasick and his wife Natsuki; Rachel Payne Karasick and her husband Collin; 3 great-grandchildren Shio, Asa and Mio; niece Elaine Carbaugh Cook; and 3 Scott family cousins.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Leonard W. Lindsell, whom she married May 12, 1990, and her brother Edward H. Carbaugh.

A private graveside service at a later date will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery in Gettysburg. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, PA. Memorial contributions may be made to the Menno Village Benevolent Fund at https://mennohaven.org/give/ or the Presbyterian Church of the Falling Spring at https://pcfallingspring.org/give/.
