Edith M. “Edie” Meyer, 81, of Blue Rock, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2026, at her home, with her loving husband of 58 years by her side.
Edie was born on March 26, 1944, in Williston, Florida, and was the daughter of the late Fred and Edith Ford.
Throughout her life, Edie was dedicated to her family. She was previously employed as a secretary with the University of Florida Extension Service in Entomology and later served as a secretary for two professors at the Woodrow Wilson School of International Studies at Princeton University.
Above all else, Edie devoted her life to raising her two daughters and caring for her family. She helped tend to the family farm, enjoyed canning vegetables, and took great pride in caring for those she loved. A true people-pleaser, Edie found joy in making others happy and was known for her kind and nurturing spirit. She especially cherished spending time with her family, including her husband, daughters, son-in-law and grandsons.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Terry Lee Meyer, whom she married on April 29, 1967; two daughters, Julie Meyer, and Christy (Darrell) Scott; and two grandsons, Wayne Meyer and Nate Swinconos.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Interim Hospice for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Edie and Terry.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation will take place, and no services will be held at this time. Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls is caring for the Meyer family.
