Edith Spivey, a beacon of love and faith, passed away surrounded by the warmth of her family's love. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and spirited joy that touched the hearts of all who knew her. Born to a close-knit family, Edith's life was a testament to the power of steadfast love and unwavering faith.
Edith is survived by a family that adored her deeply: her daughter, Debbie Spivey; her son, Randy Spivey; and her cherished grandchildren, Allison Wall, Haylee Spivey, Savanna (Creed) Carleton, and Alex (Nick) Porter. Her legacy continues to flourish through her great-grandchildren, Alexis (Joe) Love, Dawson Dennis, Keegan Albertson, Kipton Albertson, Avery Berry, Kinley Porter, Max Carleton, and her great-great-grandchild, Adley Love. Each of these individuals carries a piece of Edith's spirit and love within them.
Her journey through life was shared with her beloved husband of 55 years, Hardy Spivey, who preceded her in death. Together, they built a foundation of family and faith that continues to resonate through their descendants. Edith was also preceded in death by her daughter, Wanda Winslett; her sister, Elna Hardy; and her brothers, Larcus Mallory, Morris Mallory, and Johnny Mallory. Their memories remain a cherished part of her story.
Edith's commitment to her community was evident through her service as the secretary and treasurer at Ray Baptist Church for over two decades. Her Christian faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and interactions with a grace that inspired all. She was a pillar of her church, offering her time and talents generously.
Her interests painted the picture of a woman who embraced life with enthusiasm and joy. For 30 years, Edith was an active member of her local bowling league, where she formed lasting friendships and shared countless moments of laughter and camaraderie. Her love for bus tours and traveling around the country spoke to her adventurous spirit and curiosity. Shopping was more than a pastime for Edith; it was an opportunity to connect with friends, find joy in the little things, and, of course, spoil her grandbabies and great grandbabies, whom she enjoyed immensely.
Edith Spivey was the embodiment of a faith-filled, loving, and spirited soul. Her presence was a gift to those around her, and her absence will be deeply felt. As we remember Edith, we celebrate the profound impact she had on our lives and the countless memories that will continue to bring smiles to our faces. Her spirit, a blend of tenderness and strength, will forever be a guiding light for her family and all who were blessed to know her.
