Edith Miriam Usry Vines, 93, of Bainbridge died Friday, August 22, 2025 at Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 25 at Hopeful Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery. Rev. Clay Cloud will officiate.

Born November 5, 1931 in Gibson, GA, Mrs. Vines was the daughter of the late Eugene "Luke" Usry and Florine Chalker Usry. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Billy G. Vines; son-in-law, James Reece, and three siblings, Irma "Polly" Usry McCorkle, Bobby Usry, and Betty Usry Miller. Mrs. Vines graduated from Berry College. She was an active member of Hopeful Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school. She taught school for 32 years, having taught in Albany, Hopeful, Meigs, and Camilla. Her first teaching job was in 1952 in Newton, where she met her husband, Billy and they married in 1954. She was a lifetime member of the National Education Association.

Survivors include her daughters, Vicki Wallace (William) and Beverly Reece; a brother, Joe Dean Usry (Joanne); five grandchildren, Allison Harrell (Bill), Deanna Warren, Derek Warren, Kiley Henderson (Kyle), Sutton Reece (Haley); two great grandchildren, William Harrell and Cole Henderson; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Monday, before services, at Hopeful Baptist Church social hall.

Memorials may be made to the Billy Vines Memorial Scholarship Fund, 2740 River Rd, Camilla, GA 31730.

Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
