Edna Wood Bradley, age 94 of Hardyville, KY passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at her home. She was a member of Woodsonville Baptist Church where she was a former secretary, worked with the youth, and head of the missions. She was a member and former President of the Homemakers. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Kentucky State University, her Masters from Western Kentucky University, and she was a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. She was retired from John Bayne Elementary School in Maryland. Starting her career at Carter- Dowling Elementary School locally. She substituted in the Hart County School System for many years. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, crocheting, and just taking care of her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is the daughter of the late Robert Wood and the late Dorothy Vaughn Wood.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Abner Bradley; her son, Daryl Wood Bradley.
She is survived by her two children, Mavis Gaynelle Bradley, Roswell, GA; and Randall Bradley, Hardyville, KY; four grandchildren, Byron, Derrick, Shalaya, Dana (Tomas); one great-grandson and “Grannies Boy”, Storm Bradley; a daughter-in-love Hortense Bradley; her special cousin, William “Bunt” Wood.
The family will receive friends from 1:00- 6:00 PM CT on Monday, May 26, 2025 at Brooks Funeral Home and again from 9:00 AM- 1:00 PM CT on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Woodsonville Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM CT on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Woodsonville Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Bryant and Rev. K.T. Ford officiating. Burial will follow at Woodsonville Memorial Gardens.
