Edna Lucille Church, age 92, passed away on October 1, 2025, at Mount Pleasant Health and Rehab in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee. She was born on May 17, 1933, in Maury County to the late Johnny and Martha LeMay.
Edna was a hardworking woman who poured her love and care into her family, her home, and her garden. She had a true green thumb and was known for the beauty of her flowers, especially her roses, daffodils, angel trumpets, crepe myrtles, and calla lilies. She also found joy in the kitchen, where she was a wonderful cook. Her chicken and dumplings, roast and potatoes, and her famous banana pudding were family favorites. In addition, Edna loved canning and became especially well-known for her pickles of all kinds.
Above all, family was the most important part of Edna’s life. She cherished time spent with her loved ones and leaves behind many treasured memories.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ambers Church; her parents, Johnny and Martha LeMay; her daughter, Brenda Pruitt; her son-in-law, Donnie Long; her great-grandson, Cameron Green; and her siblings, Gladys Luttrell, Bonnie Sue McNeal, Ida Belle Allen, and Bobby Ray LeMay.
Edna is survived by her children: Wesley Pruitt, William Pruitt, and Terry Long; grandchildren: Tammy Green (Justin Hyatt), Bubba Vandygriff (Tanya), Michael Lindsey, Kasey Kephart (Matthew), and Rachel Pruitt-Holt; great-grandchildren: Caleigh Smith, Michael Lindsey, Anna Kephart, Aubrey Kephart, Tyler Kephart, Kaleb Vandygriff (Tiffany), Keenan Vandygriff, Lucille Pruitt, and Carsyn Pruitt; siblings: Junior LeMay, Claude LeMay, and Billy LeMay; and very special friend: Linda Buchanan.
Pallbearers will be Wesley Pruitt, William Pruitt, Justin Hyatt, Chris LeMay, Claude LeMay Jr., and Jeff Ragsdale.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee, with Randy Kersey officiating. Edna will then be laid to rest at Blowing Springs Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant, TN.
