Edna "Granny" Faye Culwell, age 87, passed away on November 19, 2025, in Wolfe City, Texas. She was born on June 20, 1938, in Blue Ridge, Texas, to Edgar Combest and Maxie (Bailey) Combest. The youngest daughter of ten children, Granny grew up in a large, close-knit family that shaped her lifelong love of people and community.

Granny dedicated much of her life to caring for others. Her home was a place of comfort, stability, and love for countless children over the years. She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Wolfe City and lived her faith through kindness, generosity, and service.

She married the love of her life, Barry Culwell, with whom she shared 19 wonderful years until his passing. Family was the joy of Granny's life, and she treasured every moment spent with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Granny is survived by her son, Steven Bush, and his wife, Doreen; grandchildren Cierra Jones and husband John, and Casey Bush; and great-grandchildren Seth Craig, Ryder Craig, Wynter Craig, Aleanah Craig, and Jaxon Jones. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, along with a host of extended family members and beloved friends who will forever cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Barry Culwell; and her siblings Johnnie Wallace, J.B. Combest, Bugs Parker, Wigs Parker, Betty Chambers, Junior Combest, Pete Combest, Bill Combest, and Rooster Combest.

Edna "Granny" Faye Culwell will be remembered for her warmth, her unwavering love for family, and the gentle care she gave to so many throughout her life.
