Edna Anna Kapaun (Sands), 70, of Baltic, SD, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2025.
Edna was born on March 11, 1954, in Anthon, IA to Albert Sands and Frieda Strackbein.
Edna shared many happy years with her long-time partner Doug Wilson. She was the loving mother of her son, John (Nikki) Kapaun, and daughter, Angela (Troy) Weaver. She is also survived by her siblings, Richard (Kay) Sands, George Sands, and Arlene (Lyle) Bald. Edna was a much-cherished Meemaw to her beloved granddaughter, Gwendolyn.
Edna was preceded in death by parents Albert Sands, Frieda Sands (Strackbein), siblings Harold Sands, Irene Sands, and Harry Sands.
Known for her warmth and generosity, Edna had a love for antiques and reading books, which brought her joy throughout her life. Her easy-going nature, sense of humor, and kindness made her deeply loved by all who knew her.
