Mrs. Edna Helen King Ipock, 89, passed away on August 17, 2023 at Carolina East Hospital New Bern. She would have celebrated her 90th birthday on September 23.
Per her wishes a private service will be held by the family.
Helen was born in Craven County and graduated from Vanceboro Farm Life High School. She worked for many years for the Sagner Sewing Room in New Bern NC, Texfi in New Bern, Stanley Power Tools in New Bern and lastly Bosch Power Tools in New Bern, where she retired at the age of 70. She then babysat for her granddaughter's three boys until age 80.
She was a lifelong member of Macedonia FWB church in Ernul NC (her home church) but in recent years watched the online services of The First Church of Goldsboro NC (her son's church) and dearly loved The First Church Pastor, Bill Rose who made several visits to sit and talk with her.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Dalton Ipock; parents, Lee Rollins King and Sarah Edna Dail King; brother Grady Lee King, sister in-law Billie King and niece Terry Smith.
She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Ipock Hartsell and husband Danny Hartsell of New Bern; son, Lewis Ipock Jr and wife Theda Edge of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Michelle Hartsell Dixon and husband Brian Dixon of Chocowinity, Guy Benton Hartsell and wife Katie Butler Hartsell of Angier, Ethan Ipock and wife Corrine Chase Ipock of Goldsboro, Charlie-Marie Ipock Molnar and husband Craig Molnar of Leland, step-granddaughter Stacie Edge Moore and husband Rickie Moore of Goldsboro. She leaves behind her great-grandchildren who were the most precious things to her, Brice Dixon, Latham Dixon, Jake Dixon, Bentlee Hartsell, Haylee Hartsell, Brenna Ipock, Keegan Molnar and step grandson Connor Moore; special niece/care-giver Carla Smith and many other special nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
