Funeral services for Edna Palmer Moake, 91, of Alto will be Thursday, May 22, 2025 at 2 PM in the Alto Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Bruce Robinson officiating. There will be a visitation time from 1 PM – 2 PM before the service starts. Burial will follow at the Shiloh Cemetery. Edna Passed away Tuesday, May 20th in Rusk, Texas. She was born February 27, 1934 in Van Zandt County to Oscar Phillips and Flora Rich Phillips. Edna had lived in Alto for most of her life and was a member of the Alto Missionary Baptist Church. Edna had worked as a clerk at the Lone Star Feed Store in Alto which was owned and operated by her and her husband Doyle Palmer. They had also owned and operated the Exxon gas station in Alto for awhile. She loved fishing and was a caregiver to anyone in need. Edna was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Doyle Palmer and Paul Moake and by brother Thomas Phillips. She is survived by sons Carey Palmer and wife Debroah of Alto and James Doyle Palmer of Rusk, sister Betty Mayo of Leesville, Louisiana, 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandchild as well as several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Pallbearers will be Jamie Palmer, Landon Palmer, Adrian Lamas, Adrian Palmer, Aaron Palmer and Mike Gerhart.
