Edna J Scarofile, age 88, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at Schenectady Center Nursing Home.
Born on February 2, 1937 in Amsterdam, New York, Edna was the daughter of the late Daniel A. and Mary Wells Patitucci.
She graduated from St. Mary’s Institute and began working as a secretary at Mohasco Industries in Amsterdam. She shifted her career path to care for her four grandsons whom she adored until returning to work and then retiring from Manor Glass Co. in Amsterdam.
Edna was a proud member of Disney Vacation Club where she frequently vacationed with her husband, children and grandchildren.
Edna is survived by beloved daughters, Kim M. (Stephen) Porcello and Karen L. (Donald) Gardinier; her “four huggies”, Stephen Jr. and Peter Porcello, Richard Gardinier and David Gardinier; great-grandchildren; Laura Porcello, Connor Gardinier, Savannah Gardinier and Owen Gardinier, nieces, nephews and cousins. Edna is also survived by her brother-in-law, Kurt Gardinier.
She was predeceased by her husband, Peter C. Scarofile, sisters, Roberta A. “Bobbie” Sinicropi, Mary Ann Gardinier and Sharon Falcigno, brothers in-law, Carmen J. Sinicropi and Angelo Falcigno.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Edna’s family on Sunday, November 2, 2025 from 1 pm to 3 pm at Riley Mortuary, 110 Division St., Amsterdam, NY
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 3, 2025 at St. Mary’s Church, 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam, NY.
Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fort Johnson, NY
Memorial contributions in Edna’s name can be made to Amsterdam Youth Baseball, P.O. Box 482 Amsterdam, NY 12010.
