Edna Short Obituary
Edna Fonda Short, 80, of Hartford, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at her home in Hartford.
She was born January 31, 1945, in Simmons Creek, West Virginia, the daughter of Charles David Duffy and Verse Lee (Hancock) Duffy.
Edna loved the outdoors and could often be found farming and taking care of her chickens. She also liked to practice shooting with her rifle, and she had a great shot! Edna was an expert canner and a phenomenal cook. Above all else, she was a loving mother and grandmother and adored her family.
She is survived by her children, Homer (Lola) Short, Okie Wayne (Heather) Short, Edith Miner and Cynthia Short; grandchildren, Sandra Ann Short and Kenneth B. Allen Davis and sister, Juanita Fay Richardson.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents and five siblings.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home, 502 W. Michigan Avenue, Paw Paw. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
