Edna Louise Jones Whitaker, 84 years old, passed away at her home on December 27, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She entered this world on August 16, 1940, born to Clarence and Eva Mae Jones, in Independence, LA. Edna was known for her love for owls. She was loved by her family and will be deeply missed.
Edna is survived by her son, Dennis White (Susan); daughters, Carolyn Spiess (William), and Judy Miller (Ronnie), Rhonda Knippers (Chris); 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Bobby Jones; sisters, Joann Davis, Betty Loupe, and Diane Robertson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Edna is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Thomas Whitaker; father, Clarence Ellis Jones; mother, Eva Mae Deckwa Jones; grandchild, Stacie Annette; brothers, Cecil Jones and Leroy Jones, and Clarence Ellis Jones, Jr.; sisters, Shirley Egan and Annabelle Warner.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA, on Monday, December 30, 2024, from 10:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 12:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Buddy Nelson. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Baker, Louisiana.
