Eddie's early years were marked by the challenges of World War II, growing up in war torn Germany. However, his determined spirit led him to leave Germany on December 19, 1956, in search of a better life in America. He settled in the Lexington and Higginsville area, where he would go on to build a life filled with purpose and meaning.  In 1960, Eddie returned to Germany, where he married his beloved bride, Hannelore Henning, on January 15th. Together, they embarked on a journey that would span a lifetime, filled with love and shared dreams.  Eddie owned and operated the Texaco Station in Lexington for several years in the1960’s. Eddie's commitment to helping others led him to The University of Missouri Columbia, where he completed EMT Training in 1971. For five years, he served as a paramedic on the ambulance. Eddie completed Basic Police Academy training at Central Missouri State University. He became a valued member of the Rural Missouri Major Case Squad, dedicating himself to upholding justice. He served for over 35 years with the police department and the Lafayette Country Sheriff’s department as a Deputy Sheriff. Eddie and Hannelore owned and operated Eddie's Cab for 35+ years, retiring in 1997 with pride, having served the Lexington community faithfully. Eddie was a lifelong Lutheran and member of Grace Lutheran Church joining in 1960. Eddie's impact extended beyond his immediate family. He served as a father figure to many cadets at Wentworth Military Academy, most notably George Hittner, with whom he remained close throughout his life. Eddie's mentorship and guidance left an indelible mark on the lives of these young men. Eddie took imm

ense pride in his family and cherished his German traditions, passing them down through generations. The Christmas traditions were his favorite. Eduard "Eddie" Jeske Sr. will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, and doting grandfather, a man who dedicated his life to his family, his community, and the values he held dear.

He is survived by his loving wife, Hannelore Jeske of 64 years, who stood by his side throughout their remarkable journey, one brother Helmut Jeske, Germany, son Eddie Jr. and wife Angela of Lexington, son Benny and wife Cindy of Parkville, and daughter Monica and companion Pat of Grandview.
